Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Controller for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction accounting, loan banking servicing, and multi-unit investment management. The successful candidate will take the lead in allocating funds, reporting on financial performance, and ensuring proper oversight of construction projects and related entities. The position focuses on the construction side, emphasizing financial oversight for construction projects and investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Construction Financial Management: Oversee financial reporting for multiple construction projects, ensuring costs are tracked, funds allocated, and budgets adhered to.
• Loan Banking Servicing: Manage loan servicing, including monitoring disbursements, compliance, and reporting.
• Multi-Unit Property Reporting: Provide financial reporting for multi‑unit properties, accurately tracking expenses, revenues, and progress.
• Fund Allocation: Allocate funds across projects, ensuring financing for ongoing construction and investments.
• Entity Reporting: Prepare and distribute financial reports across all entities under the company’s umbrella.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with construction, project management, and finance teams to align financial strategy and reporting.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all financial activities comply with regulatory standards and policies; manage risk with sound controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Controller or similar financial leadership role focused on construction projects and loan servicing.
• Strong construction industry background with experience reporting financials for construction projects.
• Experience with loan banking servicing, overseeing disbursements, repayments, and compliance.
• Knowledge of multi‑unit property investments and ability to prepare financial reports on them.
• Proven experience allocating funds across multiple projects and entities.
• Expertise in financial reporting and creating statements for multiple entities.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, or other certifications preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with construction management software or ERP systems.
• Background in investment management related to real estate or construction projects.
