Job summary

ORW seeks a strategic and detail‑oriented Controller to lead the accounting operations across multiple locations. You will ensure GAAP‑based financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and partner with the CFO to drive the financial strategy.

You will manage month‑end close, oversee treasury and tax coordination, and mentor a multi‑location accounting team while implementing ERP improvements and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership.

Responsibilities

• Direct all accounting operations including GL, payables, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, and reconciliations.
• Manage month-end and year-end closes with timely, accurate reporting under U.S. GAAP.
• Develop, document, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies.

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead and manage the company’s accounting operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, managing internal controls, and supporting the organization’s financial strategy. The Controller will serve as a key leader within the Finance Department and work closely with executive management and department leaders.Key Responsibilities:Direct all accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and account reconciliationsManage month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely and accurate financial reportingPrepare and review internal and external financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAPDevelop, document, implement, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and workflows to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial reportingOversee inventory accounting, including valuation, reserves, reconciliations, and related controls across retail and distribution operationsCoordinate audits (internal and external) and ensure timely completionPartner with the CFO and department leaders on annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and variance analysisProvide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support business decision-makingMonitor cash-management activities and support banking, treasury, and working-capital initiativesEnsure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements and coordinate with external tax advisors on the preparation and filing of returnsOversee accounting activities for multiple locations, departments, and legal entitiesRecruit, lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, including setting performance expectations and conducting performance evaluationsSupport implementation and optimization of financial systems and ERP platformsCollaborate with other departments to align financial planning with organizational goalsPerform other duties and special projects as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred)CPA designation strongly preferred7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management roleIn-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory complianceProficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication abilitiesHigh level of integrity and ability to handle confidential informationExperience in a multi-location, multi-entity, retail, distribution, or inventory-based organization, preferredWork Environment and Physical RequirementsThis position primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
