Job summary

Bell & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple partnerships and locations.

You will lead a team of 7–8 staff, drive close processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting under the CFO’s guidance. This onsite role offers hands-on leadership, strong technical accounting exposure, and a pathway to influence accounting workflows during NetSuite implementation.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting knowledge in financial reporting, GL, and reconciliations.
• Experience as Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop an accounting team.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-location, or partnership-based accounting environments.
• NetSuite experience is a plus and ERP implementations are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations across multiple locations and partnerships.
• Lead and develop an accounting team of ~7–8 employees.
• Oversee month-end close, GL activity, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across entities.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Review team output, troubleshoot discrepancies, meet deadlines.
• Partner with CFO to resolve issues and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Support NetSuite implementation and improvements to workflows.
• Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and procedures.
• Coordinate with external tax professionals and auditors as needed.
• Remain actively involved in accounting details while leading the team.

Bell & Associates is partnering with a growing, multi-location professional services organization to identify an experienced Controller to oversee its day-to-day accounting operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who brings a strong technical accounting foundation and enjoys applying that expertise in an operational leadership role.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll lead approximately 7–8 employees while overseeing accounting activities across multiple partnerships and operating locations.

The organization is also implementing NetSuite, creating opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-location, partnership-based organization.
• Lead and develop an accounting team of approximately 7–8 employees, including staff accountants, accounts payable, payroll, and administrative support.
• Oversee month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple partnerships and operating entities.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Review the team's work, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
• Partner directly with the CFO to resolve accounting issues and maintain accurate financial reporting.
• Support the ongoing NetSuite implementation and improvements to accounting workflows.
• Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and accounting procedures.
• Coordinate with external tax professionals and auditors as needed.
• Remain actively involved in the accounting details while providing strong leadership and accountability.

What We're Looking For

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in financial reporting, general ledger management, and reconciliations.
• Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leader.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-location, or partnership-based accounting environments is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, internal controls, and financial statement preparation.
• NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Experience with ERP implementations or accounting process improvements is beneficial.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable remaining hands‑on in daily accounting operations.
