Job summary

Codex is seeking a hands-on Controller to own global inventory and cost accounting across brands and entities. This hybrid role covers standard costing, landed cost, and COGS within a live NetSuite environment, leading two direct reports and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities include managing variances, inventory valuations, and channel accounting for e-commerce platforms, while partnering with purchasing and logistics to optimize margins and close activities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on standard costing in Oracle NetSuite across multi-entity, multi-currency setups.
• 7+ years of accounting experience in consumer goods, retail or e-commerce.
• Proficient in standard costing, landed cost, variances, inventory valuation, reserves.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency orgs and multiple warehouses.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA/CMA/ACCA/CA preferred.
• Proven track record of managing and developing direct reports.
• Advanced Excel with strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills.

A growing consumer products group is looking for a Controller to take ownership of its global inventory and cost accounting function. The business operates across multiple brands, legal entities and international markets, with ambitious plans for continued growth and acquisition, both in the USA and Internationally.

This is a hands‑on leadership role covering standard costing, landed cost, inventory valuation, COGS and channel accounting across a newly implemented Oracle NetSuite environment. You will lead two direct reports and have the opportunity to build processes, documentation and standards across the group.

Responsibilities:

• Own the standard cost model, landed cost accounting and inventory valuation across multiple brands and entities
• Analyze purchase price, inventory and COGS variances, explaining margin movements by brand, channel and entity
• Manage inventory reconciliations, reserves and provisions across warehouses, inventory in transit and intercompany movements
• Oversee transaction accounting across e-commerce and marketplace channels including Shopify, Amazon and Shopee
• Partner with purchasing, operations and logistics to analyze supplier costs, freight, fulfilment and margin impact
• Own inventory, COGS and channel revenue close activities, including accruals and journal entries
• Lead and develop two direct reports while improving processes, automation and audit‑ready documentation

Requirements:

• Hands‑on standard costing experience in Oracle NetSuite within a live multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment
• 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally within consumer goods, retail or e‑commerce, with strong cost accounting exposure
• Strong experience across standard costing, landed cost, variance analysis, inventory valuation and reserves
• Experience working across multi‑entity, multi‑currency organizations and multiple warehouses
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience managing and developing direct reports
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder communication capabilities
