Job summary

The Unger Company Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking a hands-on Finance Leader to manage accounting, financial reporting, and human resources. This role requires ownership of day-to-day financial operations and ERP systems within a centennial, privately owned business.

The ideal candidate has an accounting degree (CPA preferred), 7+ years of accounting experience, and strong MS Office and ERP skills. You will partner with senior leadership to drive growth and ensure robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree required; CPA preferred.
• At least 7+ years proven accounting experience with ability to supervise functions.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions for the company's benefit.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• ERP knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, reporting and SalesPad.
• Ability to analyze and communicate with all types of people and organizations.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day Accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Payroll and Expense Analysis, and supervising AR/AP.
• All Month End closing processes including bank reconciliations, G/L, Journal entries, financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Daily billings and bookings report.
• Producing Monthly sales reports for sales representatives.
• Work closely with President and Vice President on daily basis.
• Human Resources functions including new hiring/exiting processing, benefit administration, payroll, and employee relations.
• Supervise and work with various departments.
• Take on various projects to assist with operational growth.
