Job summary

EMCOR Services Betlem is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee general ledger, payroll, and audits while guiding a growing accounting team.

You will partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and strategic analysis to support decisions and drive process improvements in a large facilities services organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management.
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• ERP systems experience and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements.
• Manage the close process and ensure timely reporting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Coordinate external audits, sales tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial analysis.
• Provide clear financial insights and variance analysis for business decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Support system implementations and process improvements as the company grows.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.

Job Summary

EMCOR Services Betlem is looking for a Controller who is a finance leader responsible for overseeing the company’s day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial information, strengthening processes, and supporting strategic decision‑making across the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage the close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Coordinate and lead external audits, sales tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Provide clear financial insights and variance analysis to support business decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support system implementations, process improvements, and scalability initiatives as the company grows.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent professional certification a plus
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Proven ability to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
• Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Excel; ERP system experience (ex. COINS/Oracle/SAP)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience in the Construction industry a plus
• Experience managing audits (internal/external)
