Job summary

Reliable Transportation Solutions | RTS in the United States is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations of a fast-paced 3PL organization. You will strengthen financial visibility, oversee reporting, profitability analysis, cash flow management, and claims accounting while partnering with operations, carrier management, sales, and executive leadership to drive growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
• Prior experience within logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or 3PL strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, claims accounting, and carrier payment processes
• Lead EBITDA analysis and performance reporting by identifying financial trends, operational efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, margin accuracy improvements, and strategies to improve overall company profitability
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Develop and maintain internal financial controls, accounting procedures, carrier payment controls, and commission accuracy processes
• Assist executive leadership with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning initiatives, and cash flow management strategies including factoring oversight
• Monitor financial performance, customer profitability, credit exposure, and operational trends to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
• Provide recommendations based on financial analysis, profitability reporting, and operational performance metrics
• Support organizational growth through financial insight, process optimization, and improved reporting visibility
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and required reporting processes
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all financial activities
• Evaluate and improve internal control systems to minimize financial risk, strengthen reporting accuracy, and increase efficiency
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
