Responsibilities

• Direct, train and supervise accountant position.
• Manage the accounts payable core processes.
• Direct and manage the month-end close process.
• Conduct monthly review and analysis of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
• Participate in annual budgeting and monthly variance analysis.
• Ensure on-time settlement of mortgage, escrow and real estate taxes.
• Treasury management—review cash accounts and availability.
• Assist Property Managers and Owners by analyzing financial data.
• Record new loans and refinancing transactions and prepare lender statements.
• Prepare construction loan draws and work with Director of Finance on forecasting.

Client Overview

Vernovis is partnering with a growing and highly successful local Real Estate company to seek a Controller who will join their team. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial processes and reporting for the property management company and a portfolio of multi-family properties, ensuring that senior leadership and owners have access to accurate and timely financial information.

What You'll Do

• Direct, train and supervise accountant position.
• Manage the accounts payable core processes.
• Direct and manage the month-end close process.
• Conduct monthly review and analysis of the balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for the portfolio of properties.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process and monthly variance analysis and reporting.
• Ensure the on-time settlement of mortgage, escrow and real estate tax payments.
• Treasury management responsibility – review cash accounts and ensure cash is available for operational needs.
• Assist Property Managers and Owners by analyzing financial data.
• Record new loans and refinancing transactions, providelenders with necessary financial statements, evaluates escrow balances, and submit the required paperwork for reimbursement from escrow accounts
• Prepare construction loan draws and submit to lenders.
• Work closely with the Director of Finance on forecasting and projects.
