Job summary

Vernovis is seeking a Controller in Cincinnati to oversee the financial processes and reporting for a local Real Estate portfolio of multi-family properties. You will supervise accounting staff, manage month-end close, and coordinate with property managers and owners to provide timely financial information.

Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5–8 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 5–8 years of accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct, train and supervise accountant position.
• Manage the accounts payable core processes.
• Direct and manage the month-end close process.
• Conduct monthly review and analysis of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
• Participate in annual budgeting and monthly variance analysis.
• Ensure on-time settlement of mortgage, escrow and real estate taxes.
• Treasury management—review cash accounts and availability.
• Assist Property Managers and Owners by analyzing financial data.
• Record new loans and refinancing transactions and prepare lender statements.
• Prepare construction loan draws and work with Director of Finance on forecasting.
