Job summary

AVAILABILITY Professional Staffing is seeking a hands-on Controller for a stable union construction company. You will lead GL, payroll, AP/AR, and reporting while overseeing job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition. You’ll collaborate with ownership and operations and drive a key transition from American Contractor to Sage.

The role emphasizes strategic input, mentorship, and proactive financial leadership in a growing organization with strong safety and quality culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of accounting leadership experience within the construction industry.
• Significant experience in a union construction environment.
• Strong expertise in job costing, WIP schedules, construction billing, and revenue recognition.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• A hands-on, collaborative leadership style with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and financial operations, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting.
