Job summary

Corporate Resources, on behalf of our client located in Bloomingdale, IL, is hiring a Controller to lead the accounting function and partner with senior leadership on financial strategy.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing, and a proven track record of managing a team, GAAP compliance, and cost accounting. SAP experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a Controller title or similar and 6+ years in management.
• Manufacturing industry experience required.
• Experience supervising core accounting functions: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable/Invoicing, Inventory Accounting and Payroll.
• Experience with cost accounting and SAP.
• Strong business and financial acumen with good judgment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 5 employees across all accounting operations.
• Oversee the monthly close process and financial consolidation for multiple locations while providing technical accounting guidance to staff.
• Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Partner with senior leadership to develop, administer, and monitor financial plans and budgets, keeping leadership informed of organizational financial performance.
• Direct all accounting functions, including policy development, financial systems improvements, and operational management.
• Establish and maintain strong internal financial and operational controls, ensuring timely reporting to executive leadership.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies; monitor regulatory changes and manage organizational impact.
• Develop and implement structured reporting cadence and performance metrics to proactively assess business performance.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including inventory control and depreciation schedules.

• Experience with cost accounting
• Experience with SAP
• Strong business and financial acumen with sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
