Job summary

Confidential, a manufacturing equipment company near the west suburban Chicago area, seeks a hands‑on Controller to join the leadership team. This role leads Accounting and Human Resources, builds strong relations with customers and vendors, and drives accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.

The Controller will shape financial strategy, oversee a high‑performing finance function, and collaborate cross‑functionally to support business objectives and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA is required.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience.
• Previous managerial experience required.
• Experience within the manufacturing/industrial industry is required.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (M2M) and system conversions.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the accounting department.
• Utilize ERP and CRM software to track and analyze KPIs.
• Prepare and present regular reports on performance, costs, and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and cost reduction.
• Identify trends and opportunities for profitability.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and tax filings.
• Publish weekly/monthly cash flow reports based on A/P, A/R, P/R.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Collaborate with external auditors, legal and insurance partners.
• Support CEO in relationships with financial institutions and CPA’s.

Equipment manufacturing company in west suburban Chicago (near I-88 & Eola Rd) seeks a hands‑on, forward‑thinking Controller to serve as a member of the leadership team. Position Summary:

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Controller will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy and operational effectiveness. This position requires an experienced accounting professional who can provide sound financial stewardship, lead a high‑performing finance function, and collaborate across the organization to support business objectives, enhance performance, and maintain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Compensation:

• Base salary of $155,000 – 165,000/year (Salary offered will be based on qualifications, experience and education level)

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead all aspects of the accounting department
• Utilize ERP and CRM software and tools to track and analyze key performance indicators
• Prepare and present regular reports on business development performance, costs, and operational efficiencies
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and reduce costs
• Identify trends and opportunities
• Prepare and publish timely, monthly and quarterly financial statements & tax filings
• Prepare weekly/monthly cash flow reports based on projected A/P, A/R, P/R
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Work closely with third party financial, audit, legal and insurance partners
• Support CEO in relationships with financial institutions, CPA’s and auditors
• Prepare and manage annual budgets
• Manage and support the Human Resources department
• Manage IT internally and through third party support
• Play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team of the company
• Instill and support a culture that emphasizes accountability and transparency within the finance department and across the company

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, required
• CPA required
• MSA, MAcc or MBA is a plus
• 7+ years of relevant work experience
• Previous managerial experience, required
• Experience within the manufacturing/industrial industry, required
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting (US GAAP)
• Knowledgeable in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends and make strong, profitable recommendations based on analysis
• Knowledge of internal controls and frameworks
• Experience in ERP systems (M2M) and system conversions
