StevenDouglas has been retained on an outstanding Controller opportunity in Austin, Texas. This role is on‑site, 5 days per week. Reporting to an exceptional CFO, the Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting strategic decision‑making. The role requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership. The Controller will manage a small team of five.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate financial documents by establishing reconciliation procedures, schedules, collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data.
- Provide status of financial condition by daily oversight of banking and other metrics, collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Record asset acquisitions and disposals, and maintain depreciation records.
- Collaborate with upper management to identify opportunities for cost reduction, liability management, and intercompany balance review on a quarterly and year‑end basis.
- Demonstrate accountability and critical thinking in driving financial integrity and supporting business decisions.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
- Provide support to all departments in relation to any financial necessities.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 6‑8 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Multi‑entity experience.
- Experience with financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
