ARS-Rescue Rooter in Denver/Aurora, CO seeks a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations for multiple locations. The role combines leadership of the accounting team with hands-on day-to-day activities, including AR/AP, inventory, job costing, and financial reporting.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive process improvements, partner with operations to ensure accuracy and profitability, and manage month-end close, forecasts, and cash flow.

We are currently seeking an ambitious, team-oriented, and hands-on Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of our Aurora, CO and Denver, CO locations.

This is a highly involved role where the Controller will not only lead the accounting function but also actively participate in day-to-day accounting activities, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), inventory management, job costing, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being in the details, working alongside their team, and taking ownership of the accounting process from start to finish.

As an integral member of the leadership team, you will partner closely with operations to ensure financial accuracy, improve processes, and drive continuous profitability improvements

Responsibilities

• Management and participation in all accounting and finance functions to include:
• Revenue recognition
• Job costing
• Inventory Management & Control
• Accounts Payables
• Accounts Receivables & Collections
• Perform and oversee all month-end and year-end close procedures.
• Provide direct support and thought partnership to the General Manager.
• Establish a strong working relationship with line managers to coordinate facility objectives while assisting in cost improvement initiatives.
• Partner with the General Manager and Division Controller on monthly forecasts, revenue planning, profitability studies, and expense analysis and management
• Interface with other service center functional groups (service, sales, dispatch, fleet, customer service, purchasing, safety, HR) to evaluate fiscal impact of current/future activities.
• Ensure adherence to corporate directed financial controls and **escalate concerns regarding efficacy.**
• Monitor financial control within various reporting functions such as material control, purchasing, labor reporting, central A/P processing, etc.
• Prepare and publish accurate and timely monthly financial statements, weekly estimates, quarterly forecasts, annual operating, and capital plans.
• Produce ad hoc reporting and analysis to guide unbiased decision intelligence.
• Meet with management to review variances to budget and variances to estimate to ensure accuracy and mutual understanding of drivers.
• Oversee and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
