Summary
Our client is seeking an on-site Controller to take full ownership of the accounting function for a multi-entity, multi-location healthcare organization in the Atlanta metro area. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role owns month-end close, financial statement review, journal entry approval, and the development of an established accounting team. This is a true review-level Controller seat for someone with an audit foundation who can tighten process and deliver board-ready financials without CFO intervention.

What You'll Own
- Own month-end and year-end close, including the close calendar and deadline enforcement.
- Review departmental and entity-level financial statements for accuracy before they reach the CFO and the board.
- Approve journal entries and enforce documentation standards for entry descriptions and supporting detail.
- Manage intercompany activity and consolidations across multiple entities and locations.
- Produce and validate variance and departmental reporting in partnership with the analyst team.
- Supervise, develop, and hold accountable the accounting team, including senior accountants, accounts payable, payroll, and accounting support.
- Strengthen internal controls and build repeatable process documentation across the accounting function.
- Use ERP functionality and reporting tools to reduce manual work and improve reporting accuracy.
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years leading an accounting team.
- Public accounting or audit background with a foundation in controls, testing, and review discipline.
- Current or recent Controller-level ownership of close, financial statement review, and journal entry approval.
- Multi-entity, multi-location accounting experience including intercompany activity and consolidations.
- Strong ERP experience with demonstrated ability to build reports, configure functionality, and drive adoption, plus advanced Excel.
- Ability to work on-site five days per week in the Sandy Springs, GA area.
Nice to Have
- CPA, active or inactive.
- Healthcare, multi-site physician practice, or MSO accounting experience.
- Involvement in an ERP implementation, migration, or optimization.
