Job summary

39:23 Management is seeking a Controller to join our corporate accounting team in Amarillo. This role manages portfolio accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, and owner and lender reporting for assigned hotel properties and ownership entities.

The Controller will work with the COO and peers, with responsibilities growing as the portfolio expands. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
• Two or more years of progressive accounting experience with full-cycle close responsibility.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and internal control principles.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines independently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting for assigned properties and ownership entities.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, depreciation, and other general ledger activity.
• Prepare owner, investor, and lender reporting packages.
• Review hotel revenue, night audit reporting, brand statements, fees, deposits, and other property-level accounting.
• Manage cash reporting, bank reconciliations, forecasting, and lender compliance requirements.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts with general managers and operations leadership.
• Provide financial analysis to support operating decisions.
• Assist hotel GMs in understanding and owning their P&L as an accounting resource.
• Support due diligence, entity setup, financial onboarding, and acquisitions integration.
• Help develop scalable accounting processes as the portfolio grows.

This role is responsible for portfolio accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, and owner and lender reporting for assigned hotel properties and ownership entities. The Controller will work directly with the Chief Operating Officer and alongside our existing Controller as a peer. As our portfolio continues to grow, the scope and complexity of this position will grow with it.

The ideal candidate combines a strong accounting foundation with attention to detail, sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to understand the operations behind the numbers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting for assigned properties and ownership entities
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, depreciation, and other general ledger activity
• Prepare owner, investor, and lender reporting packages

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial results in clear, practical terms
• Hospitality, multi-property, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred
• CPA, CPA candidate, or active progress toward CPA certification preferred
