Job summary

Hoppen Home Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced Control4 Programmer to join our growing smart home and automation team in the Tampa area. You will install, configure, and commission both residential and commercial automation systems and troubleshoot complex controls with precision.

The role emphasizes strong customer-facing communication, professional field delivery, and maintaining installation standards while collaborating with a supportive team and pursuing ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years Control4 programming and system setup required.
• Control4 certification preferred.
• 3+ years installing whole-house audio/video and home theaters.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background screening.
• Willingness to travel and participate in on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission residential & commercial automation systems.
• Program and troubleshoot Control4 automation systems.
• Perform advanced audio/video installations and calibrations.
• Configure and troubleshoot residential & commercial networks.
• Install and integrate surveillance, LED lighting, landscape lighting, motorized shade systems and other third-party products.
• Diagnose and resolve service issues independently in the field.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and project stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation and installation standards.

We are seeking an experienced Control4 Programmer who is a self-motivated professional that enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with cutting-edge smart home systems, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

What You’ll Do:

• Install, configure, and commission residential & commercial automation systems
• Program and troubleshoot Control4 automation systems
• Perform advanced audio/video installations and calibrations

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• 1-3+ years experience in Control4 programming and system setup, Control4 certification preferred
• At least 3 years experience installing, calibrating, whole house audio/video, home theaters, surround sound systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background screening
• Ability to participate in rotating on-call service schedule
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Some travel required

Optional Job Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience in security systems: wiring, setup, programming, troubleshooting, setup monitoring services (Honeywell, DSC)
• 3-5 years experience in CCTV systems: wiring, design, setup, troubleshooting
• 3-5 years experience in structure wiring: cabling, terminations, testing
