Goshen Engineering in Mount Olive, NC is seeking a Control Wiring Technician to install, wire, and test control panels for industrial automation systems. You will work from schematics, wire lists, and approved instructions to deliver clean, test-ready wiring and support panel fabrication and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, wire lists, and work instructions.
• Prepare, route, label, terminate, and organize wires per drawings and production requirements.
• Install and wire control-panel components such as terminal blocks, relays, breakers, fuses, and PLC-related devices.
• Perform panel layout and related fabrication tasks: measuring, marking, drilling, tapping, cutting, mounting.
• Use hand tools, power tools, wire-processing tools, measuring devices, multimeters safely.
• Conduct continuity checks and electrical testing per approved procedures.
• Inspect wiring and components for quality before testing or next production step.
• Identify discrepancies and communicate issues to the team.
• Coordinate with Electrical Assembly, Engineering, Quality, Materials as needed.
• Maintain wire lists, redlines, and test records accurately.
• Perform rework and changes to ensure conformance.

About The Role

We’re looking for Control Wiring Technicians to perform electrical wiring, component installation, testing, and troubleshooting for industrial control panels and related electrical systems. You’ll work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, wire lists, and approved work instructions to produce clean, accurate, serviceable, and test-ready wiring. The role offers progression from foundational wiring and assembly work through independent troubleshooting, complex assignments, technical support, and working-lead responsibilities based on demonstrated proficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, wire lists, work instructions, and other approved documentation.
• Prepare, route, label, terminate, and organize wires and conductors according to drawings, approved wiring practices, and production requirements.
• Install and wire control-panel components such as terminal blocks, relays, breakers, fuses, power supplies, PLC-related components, and other assigned devices.
• Perform panel layout and related fabrication tasks including measuring, marking, drilling, tapping, cutting, fastening, and mounting components when required.
• Use hand tools, power tools, wire-processing tools, measuring devices, multimeters, and other electrical test equipment safely and accurately.
• Perform continuity checks and assigned electrical testing and verification activities and document results according to approved procedures.
• Inspect wiring, routing, labeling, terminations, component placement, workmanship, and other quality requirements before work moves to testing or the next production process.
• Identify and communicate wiring discrepancies, missing or incorrect components, drawing conflicts, workmanship issues, and test failures.
• Coordinate with Electrical Assembly, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and other functions to resolve production needs, drawing questions, approved changes, and technical issues.
• Maintain accurate wire lists, redlines, work orders, test records, quality checklists, and other required documentation and business-system records.
• Perform rework, corrections, and approved changes needed to bring wiring and panel assemblies into conformance.
• Support continuous improvement, process standardization, lean manufacturing, safety, quality, wiring accuracy, efficiency, serviceability, and production performance.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of material, wire lists, and related production documentation.
• Ability to safely and accurately use hand tools, power tools, wire-processing tools, measuring devices, and electrical test equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, wiring methods, component identification, polarity, terminations, and safe electrical work practices appropriate to the assigned level.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, accurate, high-quality wiring and documentation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, production employees, and other internal partners.
• Ability to learn new control-panel designs, components, wiring methods, test procedures, and production systems and work with increasing independence as proficiency develops.
• Regular on-site physical presence is required; ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform the physical movements required by the work, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment and follow applicable electrical safety and PPE requirements; additional hours, weekend work, or travel to customer sites may be required based on business needs.
• Preferred: previous control-panel wiring, electrical assembly, industrial electrical, switchgear, or manufacturing experience.
• Preferred: experience with point-to-point wiring, wire stripping and crimping, ferrules, terminal blocks, relays, breakers, fuses, power supplies, PLC-related components, or similar control-panel hardware.
• Preferred: experience reading detailed electrical schematics and using multimeters for continuity testing, electrical troubleshooting, panel modifications, or functional verification.
• For Lead-level consideration, experience providing technical assistance, testing control panels, training, onboarding support, or day-to-day work coordination is preferred.
