Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in the Greater Houston area seeks a seasoned Control Valve Planner/Technician to plan and schedule heavy industrial projects, monitor costs, and prepare work packages for field execution. You will read P&IDs, valve specs, BOMs, and location plans, and coordinate with planning, engineering, logistics, and procurement.

What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: The Planner is generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision in the Greater Houston area.Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.)Understands control valve construction and workflow processes.Ability to accurately perform other duties as assigned.Understands quality standards as outlined by site.Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.Experience: Requires 5+ years as a control valve planner and 5+ years as a control valve technician.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s, valve specs, and location plansExperience in preparing and reviewing test /work packages for issuance to the fieldProficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.Control Valve Tech maintenance experience or CV maintenance planningAbility to QA/QC work packages after work completion.Ability to understand Preventive Maintenance programs and how to translate that to work packages.Assists with the development of the control valve work scope.Identify, scope, and produce construction work packages for execution.Ability to read BOM and identify parts need for valve overhaulsPerform and lead field walks for site verification to complete control valve surveys.Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and mitigating safety issues in operationsOrganizing materials through expediting, quoting prices, and ensuring the correct parts are available for jobsCreate detailed planning activities in Cleopatra for each work order utilizing planning templates as applicable.
