Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking a seasoned Control Valve Planner for project planning and scheduling in the Port Arthur area. The role requires deep knowledge of valve systems, P&ID interpretation, and experience in producing work packages for field execution.

You will collaborate with multi-functional teams, lead risk and safety initiatives, and coordinate material expediting for outage work orders. A strong background in Primavera P6, SAP, and Cleopatra is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 5+ years as a control valve planner and 5+ years as a control valve technician.
  • Proficient in reading P&ID’s, valve specs, and location plans.
  • Experience creating and reviewing test/work packages for field issuance.
  • Must be comfortable with scheduling, expediting, and working under safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule heavy industrial projects in the Greater Houston area.
  • Create and maintain control valve work packages and planning templates.
  • Lead field verifications, valve surveys, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with planning, scheduling, engineering, logistics, and QA teams.
  • Update daily outage schedules and manage MOC-related documentation.
  • Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are upheld on sites.

## Control Valve PlannerApplylocations: Port Arthur, TXtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: 2026-000894# What You'll Be Doing**Job Scope:** The Planner is generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision in the Greater Houston area.**Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:*** Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.)* Understands control valve construction and workflow processes.* Ability to accurately perform other duties as assigned.* Understands quality standards as outlined by site.# Ideal Background**Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent is required.**Certification:** AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.**Experience:** Requires 5+ years as a control valve planner and 5+ years as a control valve technician.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:*** Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s, valve specs, and location plans* Experience in preparing and reviewing test /work packages for issuance to the field* Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.* Control Valve Tech maintenance experience or CV maintenance planning* Ability to QA/QC work packages after work completion.* Ability to understand Preventive Maintenance programs and how to translate that to work packages.* Assists with the development of the control valve work scope.* Identify, scope, and produce construction work packages for execution.* Ability to read BOM and identify parts need for valve overhauls* Perform and lead field walks for site verification to complete control valve surveys.* Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and mitigating safety issues in operations* Organizing materials through expediting, quoting prices, and ensuring the correct parts are available for jobs* Create detailed planning activities in Cleopatra for each work order utilizing planning templates as applicable. Activities include individual tasks, manpower, durations, and assigned discipline.* Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution.* Create job planning packages for each work order per site guidelines for both internal and external distribution, e.g. bid events, contractor field personnel, etc.* Support Management of Change process, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner.* Ability to effectively communicate scope, revisions, and activity breakdowns to other groups.* Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites.* Complete close out and documentation as required by standards and procedures.**Physical Requirements:*** Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.# Hargrove CultureWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
