Job Description

As a Controls Systems Technician, you will work with the maintenance team to maintain and repair conveyance, automation, and facilities equipment to support operations uptime and improve system reliability. This role is the resident expert in controls, PLCs, communication protocols, and automation.

Shift: Wednesday to Saturday - 7am to 5:30pm

You will:

• Maintain compliance with all safety, food safety, and security standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on automation, robotics, and control panels.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, escalate as needed, and document all work in CMMS and ticketing systems.
• Mentor maintenance personnel in automation, controls, and robotics.
• Lead root cause analysis of major downtime events and act as a network resource for technical issues.
• Develop maintenance staff skills in automation, controls, and robotics.
• Collaborate with engineering on new control systems commissioning.
• Audit vendor work and provide feedback on quality and SLA performance.
• Write or modify preventive maintenance procedures to standardize and improve effectiveness.
• Perform building project work as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience with conveyor systems, automation, robotics, PLC troubleshooting/programming, and communication protocols (Profi, DeviceNet, Ethernet TCP/IP, etc.).
• Advanced understanding of PLCs and automated processes.
• Strong computer skills and ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, including programming, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to travel up to 10% for business needs.
• High School diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in electronic technology or similar is preferred.
• Excellent follow-through, judgment, and a proactive attitude.
