Job summary

RTX is seeking a Control Systems and Signal Processing Engineer to join our Physical Sciences & Systems unit near Newport, RI. You will develop and evaluate MATLAB-based algorithms, prototype capabilities, and test both in-lab and in the field.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, system integration, and real-world testing, with relocation and sign-on bonuses available for qualified candidates. US citizenship and clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
• Algorithm development experience (MATLAB or Python preferred).
• Physical system modeling experience (SIMULINK preferred).
• Experience with signal processing in applications, and data processing and analysis.
• Time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Position may require some (5-10%) overnight travel to support field testing and customer interaction at other CONUS locations.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement control systems, signal processing, and physical system representations primarily in MATLAB and SIMULINK.
• Participate in research and development in technical areas including supporting proposal and program planning efforts.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team testing your contributions and analyzing performance.
• Integrate components you develop into a larger system in preparation for real world testing and deployment.
• Participate in system testing (on-site and at our customer’s sites), associated data analysis, and reporting.
• Support the authoring of technical reports.
• Make a difference to our national defense.
