Vertech Industrial Systems, LLC is hiring a Control Systems Integrator III - Energy in Irvine, CA. You will design and implement PLC/HMI control systems using SEL RTAC and Ignition Perspective, and develop SCADA for PV and BESS sites.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• 3–7 years creating PLC controlled SCADA systems in project-based settings.
• At least 2 years writing PLC programs, HMI screens, and SCADA systems.
• Expert ladder logic, function block, and structured text on major PLC platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Ignition Perspective, SEL RTAC, or solar/power projects a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, program and implement PLC/HMI control systems using SEL RTAC and Ignition Perspective.
• Design and implement SCADA for real-time data, alarming and control at PV and BESS sites.
• Own control system architecture and document key technical decisions.
• Write structured, well-documented PLC code.

• Guide junior engineers and lead project components to success.
• Test, troubleshoot, and validate systems in-house and on-site during startup.

What You Will Be Doing

• Plan, design, program and implement PLC/HMI based control systems, primarily using SEL RTAC and Ignition Perspective
• Design and implement SCADA systems for real-time data acquisition, alarming, and control at solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) sites
• Own the control system architecture (PLC, SCADA, networks, I/O, and interfaces) and document the key technical decisions
• Write structured, well-documented, bug-free PLC code
• Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing HMI interfaces
• Act as the technical lead on projects and the primary technical contact for the client
• Break down the technical components of the project and help lead junior level engineers down the right path
• Test, troubleshoot, and validate systems in-house and in the field through startup and commissioning
• Write sequence of operations (SOO) documents and document control system designs, configurations, and procedures

What You Need for this Position

• BS in electrical, mechanical, chemical or related engineering field or relevant experience
• Three to seven years of experience developing PLC controlled SCADA systems, preferably in a project based industry
• At least two years of experience developing PLC programs, HMI screens, and SCADA systems
• Expert PLC programming in ladder logic, function block diagram, and structured text across multiple PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, GE, or Modicon)
• Thorough understanding of at least one major HMI/SCADA platform (Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, or GE Proficy)
• Working knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus, EtherNet/IP, and DNP3
• Comfortable reading and redlining electrical drawings and P&IDs and specifying PLC and I/O hardware
• Experience with Ignition Perspective, SEL RTAC, or solar (PV, BESS) and power projects is a big plus
• Ignition Gold and Wonderware Certified Developer status, or willing to earn both within your first year
• Strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently across multiple projects
