Job summary

BlackRock Resources, LLC seeks an Automation Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA on a hybrid, 6-month contract basis. The role focuses on control system hardware, enclosure and panel design, wiring, and documentation using Allen-Bradley ControlLogix with FLEX 5000 I/O modules.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience with automation, controls, or instrumentation & I&C engineering.
Experience with control system hardware and enclosure/panel design.
Understanding of PLC I/O, junction boxes, field instrumentation, and control wiring.
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or similar PLC systems preferred.
Ability to develop and/or review I/O schematics and cable schedules.

Responsibilities

Develop control system enclosure designs for approximately 10–15 enclosures.
Support control system design using Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and FLEX 5000 I/O modules.
Develop junction box designs for wire marshalling and local instrument connections.
Develop and review I/O schematics.
Develop and maintain cable schedules.
Coordinate control system hardware and field instrumentation connections.
Work with project drafters and designers to develop and complete design drawings and documentation.
Support overall automation and controls engineering activities throughout the design phase.
