Job summary

Xcimer Energy is seeking a Control Systems Engineer II for our Applied Science group at our Denver, CO headquarters. You will own software and integration tasks for control, data acquisition, timing, and interlock systems powering multi-kilojoule-class pulsed lasers for defense-related experiments.

The role emphasizes independence with some direction from senior engineers, hands-on work on the test floor, and contributions to verification, documentation, and continuous improvement of test

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical/Controls/Computer Engineering or related STEM field.
• Typically 2+ years of relevant experience in control systems, test and measurement, or automation engineering; Master’s degree with hands-on project experience acceptable.
• Solid understanding of LabVIEW development and modular, version-controlled code.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation, instrument control, and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Develop control, automation, and data acquisition software in LabVIEW and Python for test and measurement systems, following established architectures and coding standards.
• Integrate instrumentation, DAQ hardware, benchtop equipment, and custom electronics into test systems under senior engineer guidance.
• Configure and commission timing, trigger, and interlock hardware for pulsed experiments and verify sequencing and signal integrity.
