Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience maintaining applications or systems for 24x7 operations (Control Systems Engineer).
• 6+ years of experience for Senior Control Systems Engineer, including energy accounting experience.
• Experience with energy accounting, EMS, scheduling/tagging, or related utility systems.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL for troubleshooting and reporting.
• Understanding of APIs, client-server architecture, and software engineering practices.
• Experience with source-control tools such as Git or similar.
• Understanding of network and application communications; packet-analysis tools are beneficial.
• Knowledge of NERC standards, NERC CIP, cybersecurity controls, patch management, and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Utility experience and knowledge of energy markets desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, technical documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• EIT or PE credentials are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance energy accounting and related applications in a 24x7 utility environment.
• Maintain interfaces, displays, data fields, reports, and configurations to improve data accuracy and usability.
• Investigate and resolve application, database, telemetry, and system integration issues.
• Support data flows between energy accounting systems, EMS, historians, and third-party data sources.
• Plan and implement updates, patches, upgrades, and configuration changes while maintaining availability and data integrity.
• Support energy scheduling, tagging, transmission, market, and electronic data-exchange apps.
• Use SQL and related tools to investigate data issues, support reporting, and provide compliance evidence.
• Develop, maintain, or modify custom applications and interfaces where needed.
• Participate in testing, code reviews, source control, and change management.
• Troubleshoot application and network communications using Wireshark or equivalent tools.
• Maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and system support practices.
• Support cybersecurity and regulatory compliance activities including NERC CIP requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, IT/cybersecurity, energy-market personnel, vendors, and external partners.
