Job summary

Saulsbury Industries is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to drive PLC/DCS programming and HMI configurations for large midstream, refining, and petrochemical projects. You will collaborate with multiple disciplines, pre-qualify scopes, and support project schedules with strong documentation and testing discipline.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in control systems, and comfort with 30% travel. EIT licensure or the ability to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent I/E & control systems experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience required, 10+ years preferred.
  • EIT licensure required or ability to obtain after joining.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a control systems engineer for designated projects.
  • Interact with other engineering disciplines, PMs and clients.
  • Provide input to initial project schedules and support maintenance of project schedules.
  • Lead engineering work with process quality reviews and drawing approvals.
  • Own PLC/DCS programming and HMI configuration.
  • Perform Software Factory Acceptance Tests and Hardware Acceptance Tests.
  • Provide man-hour and equipment estimates for proposals.

Work on control systems engineering and designs for large industrial projects in midstream gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemical, and upstream oil & gas industries.**Responsibilities/Competencies*** Act as a control systems engineer for selected projects.* 10% - Interact with other engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients* 5% - Provide input to the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for designated projects.* 20% - Work process quality review and drawing approval in the capacity of a lead engineer.* 40% - Responsible for PLC/DCS Programming and HMI configuration.* 25% - Perform Software Factory Acceptance Tests and Hardware Acceptance Tests for the plant control system.* Provide man hour and equipment estimates for project proposals.* Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities.* Self-motivated with ability to work with others.**Requirements*** BS. in Electrical Engineering or B.S. in Engineering with equivalent I/E & control systems experience required.* 5+ years' experience required, 10+ years preferred.* Must have Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and Wonderware HMI development experience.* Delta V Programming experience is a plus.* Industrial networking experience is a plus.* Should be a self-learner and willing to go extra mile to accomplish tasks.* EIT licensure required or the ability to get licensed after joining the company.* Must have trouble shooting skills.* Must have commissioning and start-up experience.* Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time.* Strong verbal and written communication skills required.* Record of success working in a team culture* Professional and ethical* Strong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)* Well developed, detail oriented organizational skills.**Physical Requirements*** Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.* Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.* Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.*Saulsbury is an equal opportunity employer.
