Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company in Longview, TX seeks a Control Systems Mechanic Apprentice specializing in electrical and instrumentation. This three-year program trains you to dismantle, repair, calibrate, and maintain plant E&I equipment while working under seasoned technicians.

You will learn to read electrical schematics, perform PMs, calibrations, and safety procedures, and contribute to reliable energy supply for production.

Qualifications

• Experience with instrumentation such as pressure, temperature, level, flow and control devices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs and manuals.
• Knowledge of safety requirements including lockout/tagout and confined-space.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, repair, adjust, overhaul, install and service electrical and instrument equipment.
• Provide plant with reliable, uninterrupted electrical energy supply.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
• Follow PM and calibration schedules (e.g., instrument calibration, UPS, gas detector tests).
• Work from blueprints, specifications and instructions.
