Job summary

John H. Carter Company is seeking an automation specialist to install, commission, and maintain DCS/SIS systems including DeltaV and AMS Device Manager. The role requires traveling to remote customer sites, performing software configurations, and supporting upgrades and FAT.

Strong analytical skills and attention to safety rules are essential. Candidates should have extensive experience with DCS/PLC programming, network design, and virtualization.

Qualifications

• 5 years: Process control concepts, instrumentation and electrical concepts.
• 5 years: Implementation and configuration experience of either DCS and/or PLC systems.
• 5 years: Programming experience with any modern DCS programming language.

Responsibilities

• Provide DCS and SIS technical support services to our customer base.
• Design, installation of software, staging, testing, installation, startup and upgrades.
• Active Directory/DNS design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Virtualization environment design, configuration, and maintenance.
• Control system network and wireless design, setup and maintenance.
• Schedule obligations and follow procedures for preventive maintenance.
• Assist in upgrades, FAT, commissioning, and startup support.
• On-call coverage and travel to customer sites as needed.
