Job summary

John H. Carter Co., Inc. is seeking a field-based engineer to install, commission, and maintain DCS and SIS systems at customer sites. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, system testing, and ongoing support with DeltaV DCS/SIS and AMS Device Manager.

The candidate will travel to remote sites, perform software installations, upgrades, FATs, and start-ups while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in process control instrumentation and electrical concepts.
• Participation in automation projects and system integration.
• Experience with commissioning, loop checkout, FAT and startup.

Responsibilities

• Provide DCS and SIS technical support to our customer base (DeltaV DCS/SIS, AMS Device Manager).
• Design, install, stage, test, and upgrade control software for customers.
• Design and manage Active Directory, DNS, and related services.
• Design and maintain virtualization environments for systems.
• Design and maintain computer workstations and servers.
• Design and maintain control system networks and wireless access.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance per contracts.
• Follow documented procedures to ensure quality service.
• Coordinate with sales to grow service and product portfolio.
• Support software upgrades, FAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Participate in on-call coverage and after-hours as needed.
• Travel to remote customer sites; some overnight stays required.
• Possess ability to drive company vehicle and operate offshore access if assigned.
• Work safely and comply with PPE and site safety rules.
