Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Fort Worth, TX is hiring a Control Process Operator for our plant. You will set up and operate machines, read blueprints, verify dimensions, and move materials to storage while ensuring safety.

Key tasks include running 20', 26’, and 60' break presses, plasma table, and drilling equipment; operate overhead cranes, troubleshoot and adjust equipment, and maintain attendance. This role requires teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year operating a 20’ or larger break press, plasma table or drill press.
• Able to read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements.
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts preferred.
• Must maintain reliable, regular attendance and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machines: 20’, 26’, and 60’ break presses, plasma table, and drill press.
• Form and/or cut materials to design specifications and sizes.
• Use overhead cranes to move materials safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments as needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and determine quality and sequence considerations.

Job description

Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire a Control Process Operator for our plant operation located in Fort Worth, TX. The Control Process Operator sets up and operates machines, and may use blueprints, make adjustments for materials used, verify dimensional requirements, and transfer materials to storage areas. Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.

Schedule

Mon- Fri 5:00 am - 4:30 pm with MANDATORY overtime on Saturdays as needed.

What You Will Do

• Operate any or all of the following machines:
• 20' Break Press
• 26’ Break Press
• 60' Break Press
• Plasma Table
• Kinetic (Drill Press)
• Form and or cut materials into predesignated shapes and sizes
• Operate overhead cranes to move materials safely
• Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments
• Make general decisions as to quality, tolerances, and operation sequence
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Other job duties as assigned

What You Will Need

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a 20’ or larger break press, Plasma Table, or Drill Press, preferably breaking and/or cutting steel up to 2” thick
• Working knowledge/experience with angle grinders/metal manufacturing/fabrication
• Experience operating overhead cranes
• Experience operating forklifts
• Ability to proficiently read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements
• The ability to maintain reliable and predictable good attendance
• The ability to stand throughout the day, and climb on/off equipment, and lift materials in excess of 50 pounds regularly
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
