Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Fort Worth, TX is hiring a Control Process Operator to set up and operate machines including break presses, plasma table, and drill press. You will read blueprints, verify dimensions, and transfer materials to storage areas.

Minimum 1 year of experience with metal fabrication equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts is required; flexibility for overtime and long hours is expected. Ability to lift heavy parts and work safely as part of a team is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year operating 20’+ break press, plasma table, or drill press, preferably on steel up to 2” thick.
• Working knowledge of angle grinders and metal fabrication.
• Experience with overhead cranes.
• Experience operating forklifts.
• Ability to read blueprints and verify dimensions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Stand for long periods, climb equipment, lift heavy materials.
• Dependable, great attitude, and team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate 20’/26’/60’ break presses, plasma table, and drill press.
• Form or cut materials into designated shapes/sizes.
• Use overhead cranes to move materials safely.
• Troubleshoot equipment and adjust as needed.
• Assess quality, tolerances, and operation sequence.
• Follow all safety rules and work duties as assigned.

Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire a Control Process Operator for our plant operation located in Fort Worth, TX. The Control Process Operator sets up and operates machines, and may use blueprints, make adjustments for materials used, verify dimensional requirements, and transfer materials to storage areas.

Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.

Schedule: Mon- Fri 5:00 am - 4:30 pm with MANDATORY overtime on Saturdays as needed.

What you will do:

• Operate any or all of the following machines:
  • 20' Break Press
  • 26’ Break Press
  • 60' Break Press
  • Plasma Table
  • Kinetic (Drill Press)
• Form and or cut materials into predesignated shapes and sizes
• Operate overhead cranes to move materials safely
• Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments
• Make general decisions as to quality, tolerances, and operation sequence
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Other job duties as assigned

What you will need:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a 20’ or larger break press, Plasma Table, or Drill Press, preferably breaking and/or cutting steel up to 2” thick
• Working knowledge/experience with angle grinders/metal manufacturing/fabrication
• Experience operating overhead cranes
• Experience operating forklifts
• Ability to proficiently read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements
• The ability to maintain reliable and predictable good attendance
• The ability to stand throughout the day, and climb on/off equipment, and lift materials in excess of 50 pounds regularly
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
