Job summary

CEC Controls is seeking a Control Panel Technician for a role in electrical and process controls within the automotive, environmental, and government markets. The position is full-time with standard 40 hours per week in the Warren, MI area.

The candidate will wire panels from schematics, assemble enclosures, and test using electrical diagrams, ensuring high-quality builds and up-to-date documentation. Safety, teamwork, and a proactive learning attitude are essential.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Safety and quality conscious mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimal experience in electrical or process control wiring.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

  • Build industrial control enclosures and connect wiring from schematics.
  • Interpret data from electrical diagrams and schematics and complete builds to design.

Objective:

CEC Controls is looking for a control Panel Technician who is interested in a career in electrical and process controls with a leader in the automotive, environmental, and government markets.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Wire standard control panels from a schematic
  • Apply knowledge of basic UL standards
  • Layout panel, wire panel, pushbutton stations and J-boxes
  • Build industrial control enclosures and connect wiring form schematics
  • Interpret data from electrical diagrams and schematics and complete builds to given design
  • Effectively use electrical test equipment, schematics and technical manualsIdentify and select correct parts/materials required for build
  • Determine placement of components as part of the panel design
  • Complete wiring of all components following electrical schematic diagrams
  • Finish products to a professionally high standard of work
  • Ensure all panel diagrams, information and schematics are current and correct for the build
Additional Skills & Experience:
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be safety and quality conscious
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimal experience working in electrical or process control panel wiring
  • Can work independently and as a part of a team
  • Has a "can do" attitude
  • Coachable, and keen to learn new skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship
Current Hours and Starting Time
  • Full Time, 40 hours per week.
  • Typical start time for this position is currently 6:00 AM.
  • Evening, weekend and/or holiday hours may be required as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to climb a ladder.
  • Can walk a mile in 20 minutes.
  • Be able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job site.
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs. without difficulty.
