Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Services in Eden Prairie, MN seeks a Control Panel Builder to assemble electrical equipment per standards and drawings. You will read schematics, verify BOM components, and layout panels with attention to NEC requirements.

This role supports shipment readiness and daily production tasks in a hands-on environment. The position requires 3+ years of panel-building experience, basic hand and power tool skills, and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years experience building control panels.
• Demonstrated skill in working effectively with team members.
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of safety requirements in assembly area.
• Skill in identifying non-standard designs and suggesting layout/assembly improvements.
• Basic use of hand tools.
• Basic use of power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical equipment per Wunderlich-Malec standards and engineered drawings.
• Read and understand electrical schematics and panel layout drawings.
• Perform a print/part match by checking components for accuracy on the BOM.
• Layout back panel components and enclosure-mounted components.
• Ensure proper spacing according to manufacturer and NEC requirements.
• Maintain UL standards and NEC codes while building panels.
• Label all components within the control panel.
• Organize component literature for shipping.
• Assist with assembling equipment for system checkout.
• Assist with daily shipping/receiving tasks and equipment loading/unloading.
• Keep production area clean and organized.
