Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience designing, programming, integrating, testing, or commissioning control systems.
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP or similar industrial protocols.
  • Background in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, power, or industrial automation industries.
  • Able to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues.
  • Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and handle changing priorities.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment and self-directed work.

  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and construction teams.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial design through handoff.

Job description

Our client is a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company developing the physical systems needed to operate large-scale computing environments. The company is expanding into modular data centers and building advanced cooling, power, controls, and monitoring systems for major AI projects.

About the Role:

The Controls Engineer will develop, integrate, and commission control systems for complex infrastructure projects. Direct data center experience is not required. The company is interested in hands‑on controls engineers from aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, power, advanced manufacturing, and other complex engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, program, and test control systems for complex equipment and facilities.
  • Develop control sequences, system logic, points lists, and technical documentation.
  • Integrate mechanical, electrical, cooling, power, and third-party equipment.
  • Support equipment startup, functional testing, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot controls, communication, and equipment performance issues.
  • Improve control standards and apply lessons learned to future projects.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and construction teams.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial design through operational handoff.
Qualifications:
  • Controls engineering experience within advanced manufacturing or another complex technical environment.
  • Background in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, power, industrial automation, or similar industries.
  • Hands‑on experience programming, integrating, testing, or commissioning control systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or similar.
  • Experience working with PLC, SCADA, BMS, DDC, or other industrial control platforms.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software‑related issues.
  • Able to work across multiple engineering disciplines and manage changing priorities.
  • Hands‑on, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced startup environment.
  • Motivated by complex technical projects and the opportunity to build systems from the ground up.
