Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Evari seeks an Embedded Controls Engineer to develop real-time firmware and system-level control for its high-speed compressor and motor system. You will own the firmware, control algorithms, and integration layer coordinating multiple motor drives, startup sequencing, torque regulation, fault handling, and diagnostics.
The role requires deep expertise in embedded real-time systems and motor control, plus hands‑on knowledge of power electronics to specify and integrate drives.
At Evari, we are deeply passionate about making a positive impact on global climate challenges and remain optimistic about the role of clean-tech progress in shaping a sustainable future. We are unafraid of tackling hard problems, pushing boundaries, and embracing creativity to find innovative solutions. We believe that varied perspectives fuel our best ideas and help us grow as creative problem solvers. If you are driven by purpose and inspired by the potential to make a difference, we’d love to have you join us on this journey.
Evari is a venture-backed, clean-tech company commercializing a next-generation compressor that will accelerate the transition to renewable energy in a broad range of markets. Our team has pioneered miniature oil-free gas-bearing turbomachines for over four decades and is the leading provider for specialized NASA, DoD, DOE, and industrial applications. This next phase of commercialization will focus on transitioning away from slow and expensive heritage fabrication techniques and toward automated, low-cost manufacturing processes—a critical step towards creating a cost-competitive product that enables deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
Evari is seeking an exceptional Embedded Controls Engineer to develop the real-time embedded control software and system-level control strategies that orchestrate Evari’s compressor and motor systems. You will own the firmware, real-time control algorithms, and integration layer that coordinate multiple motor drives—managing startup sequencing, speed and torque regulation, fault handling, and diagnostics for high-speed rotating equipment. Rather than designing inverters or power electronics in-house, you will specify drive requirements to third-party vendors and OEM partners, select and integrate off-the-shelf and co-developed drives, and define the control architecture that ties them together. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in embedded real-time systems and motor control, a strong working knowledge of power electronics sufficient to specify and integrate drive hardware, and the ability to run this effort independently. Your creative design talents and practical hands-on know-how will help us rapidly bring high-performance products to life.
At Evari, we value and prioritize diversity of thought, access, and experiences, and are an equal opportunity employer by choice. We consider all qualified applicants equally for employment. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, protected veteran status, religion, physical or mental disability, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or any other basis protected by law, ordinance, or regulation.
