Job summary

DP Professionals (DPP) is seeking a seasoned controls engineer to support industrial automation projects in the Greensboro area. The role emphasizes PLC programming, SCADA/HMI configurations, and system integration on multiple platforms.

Candidates should have 5–10 years of relevant experience, a BSEE or BS in Controls Engineering, and be willing to travel up to 25% to customer sites. Green Card or US citizenship required; no sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• Requires BSEE or BS in Controls Engineering; AA acceptable with equivalent experience.
• Five to ten years in control systems, ladder logic, SCADA/HMI and related applications.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Rockwell 5, 500, 5000, DeviceNet, Point I/O); GE PLCs a plus.
• Experience with VFD programming (Allen-Bradley or ABB).

Responsibilities

• Develop sequence of operations and acceptance documentation.
• Program PLCs and configure SCADA/HMI systems.
• Tune PID loops and commission VFDs at site.
• Travel to job sites up to 25% as needed.

Education BSEE or BS in Controls Engineering is preferred. An AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent with equivalent experience may be substituted. Must have a valid driver's license

Experience Five to ten years in areas below is preferred:

• An in-depth understanding of control systems, components, ladder logic programming, SCADA/HMI programming and their applications
• Experience with the development of sequence of operations, functional acceptance, and operational acceptance documentation
• Experience with PLC programming of Allen Bradley PLCs (Rockwell 5, 500, 5000, Device Net, Point I/O, additional experience in GE or other PLC platforms is a plus)
• Experience with VFD programming (Preferably Allen-Bradley or ABB VFDs)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Ignition or GE Cimplicity SCADA systems (Python and SQL scripting experience is a plus)
• Experience with PID loop tuning (Open and Closed Loops)
• Ability to travel up to 25% to job sites
