Woodgrain in Fruitland, Idaho is seeking a Controls Engineer to plan, oversee, and coordinate development, design, and commissioning of PLC-based automated control systems in an industrial plant. You will partner with mechanical engineers and plant managers to deliver robust control solutions and ensure safety, reliability, and power management across systems.
You may lead projects, provide field service, and perform on-site commissioning; travel to other sites as needed (up to 10%).
This position will be based in Fruitland, Idaho, but will be able to work from the Meridian, Idaho office 1-2 days per week.
The Controls Engineer will plan, oversee and coordinate activities concerned with development, design, construction, modification, maintenance of equipment and machinery in an industrial plant. They will partner with mechanical engineers, line and plant managers, to design, develop, and commission PLC based automated control systems. They will also provide field service systems integration and technical consultation for customers in the areas of system design, programming, installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, training and modification of automated control systems and power management systems. Systems will include controls, interfaces, motor control centers, diagnostics, and safety elements. Must be able to take suggestions and direction from multiple sources and select the best practices from all to produce the most effective system. This position must be comfortable leading people and assuming the role of Project Manager when project demands this skill set.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
