Job summary

Frinks AI in Detroit is seeking a Control Engineer to develop, install, commission, and support industrial automation systems. The role covers PLC programming, electrical and mechanical installations, and machine vision integration at customer sites.

You will configure servers, HMIs, and networking devices, perform cable routing, and produce installation records. Travel to client sites is required to support FAT/SAT and startup activities.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Control Engineer to develop, install, commission, and support industrial automation systems. The role involves PLC programming, electrical and mechanical installations, machine vision integration, server configuration, and project execution at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs and automation systems.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and camera installations.
  • Configure industrial servers, HMIs, and networking devices.

  • Install and integrate machine vision systems with production equipment.

Required Qualifications
  • Preferred candidates with backgrounds in Robotics Engineering, Industrial Mechatronics, Automotive Systems, Robotics & Autonomous Systems, Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Industrial Engineering, or Mechatronic Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.).
  • Knowledge about industrial automation, electrical wiring, and control panels.
  • Knowledge of machine vision/camera systems and industrial networking.
  • Experience with server configuration and commissioning of automation systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel for onsite installations and customer support

  • Industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA)
