Job summary

RTX Corporation in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico invites students to join a Monday–Friday Co-Op session from January to June, blending on-site and remote work. You will design, develop, and test control software for dynamic mechanical, power, and electric systems under mentorship.

You must be enrolled in a degree program in CS, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer, Software or Electrical Engineering, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be a U.S. citizen.

Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Co-Op session, that will run from January to June (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions to control dynamic mechanical, power, and electric systems.
• Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into software or systems requirements and designs.
• Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs.
• Perform software verification including regression analysis, test case development, test script development and evaluation of results.

Basic Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer, Software or Electrical Engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of gas turbine jet engine operation and sub-systems.
• Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Java, or Phyton.
• Experience with modeling tools for complex systems (NPSS, Dymola, Simulink).
• Ability to execute in a multidiscipline working environment.
