Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Senior Contracts Advisor to steer commercial contracting for utility-scale renewable energy projects. You will lead cross-functional teams, draft and negotiate complex agreements, and manage risk and governance across the full project lifecycle.

The role requires 10+ years in contract management and strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder skills. Hybrid work is available and up to 25% travel may be required; travel arrangements to be determined.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 10+ years in contract management, commercial negotiations or related activities for large capital projects.
• Experience drafting, negotiating and administering complex project-based agreements.
• Knowledge of contract law, risk allocation and governance frameworks.
• Strong negotiation, analytics and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical, legal and executive audiences.

• Lead commercial contracting across full project lifecycle from sourcing to administration.
• Draft, negotiate, and administer EPC, equipment supply, operations and maintenance, and master service contracts.
• Review proposals, identify deviations and shape negotiation strategies balancing risk and objectives.
• Provide contract admin support during execution including change orders, claims and disputes.
• Assess risks and recommend risk allocation aligned with standards.
• Collaborate across Development, Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance and executives.
• Mentor junior contracting professionals and improve templates and processes.

As a Senior Contracts Advisor, you'll sit at the center of project delivery, shaping the agreements that move utility-scale renewable energy projects from concept to completion. Your work will help protect value, manage risk, and support successful project execution.

What You Will Do

• Lead commercial contracting activities across the full project lifecycle, from sourcing strategy and competitive solicitations through contract award and administration
• Draft, negotiate, and administer complex agreements including EPC, equipment supply, operations and maintenance, professional services, and master service contracts
• Review commercial proposals, identify contractual deviations, and develop negotiation strategies that balance risk, schedule, and business objectives
• Provide contract administration support during project execution, including guidance on change orders, claims, liquidated damages, warranties, and dispute resolution
• Evaluate contractual, financial, and operational risks and recommend appropriate risk allocation aligned with company standards
• Partner with stakeholders across Development, Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance, and Executive Management to resolve complex commercial and contractual matters
• Mentor junior contracting professionals and drive continuous improvement across templates, playbooks, and contracting processes

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or a related field
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management, commercial negotiations, procurement, strategic sourcing, or related commercial activities supporting large capital, infrastructure, energy, industrial, engineering, construction, or oil and gas projects. Experience supporting renewable energy, power generation, utilities, LNG, petrochemical, industrial manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries is valued
• Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and administering complex project-based agreements such as EPC, supply, and service contracts
• Knowledge of contract law principles, risk allocation, and commercial governance frameworks
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions at all levels
• Clear communicator who can translate complex contractual concepts for technical, legal, and executive audiences
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams

Additional Details

• These positions are eligible for ENGIE’s hybrid work policy and are not eligible for fully remote work
• Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time, including occasional overnight travel
• Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

We are recruiting across two levels, and we will determine appropriate placement based on the candidate’s experience and scope. Salary Range will be included in the formal job posting once a specific level of opportunity is determined and posted.

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
