Job summary

Montana Judicial Branch is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee large, complex procurement and contracting programs. You will develop contracts, monitor compliance, and lead bid/procurement processes, reporting to the Financial Services Director. The role emphasizes policy adherence and independence in project execution.

The position offers a probationary period for new hires and may require travel. A bachelor’s degree and public sector contracting experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of state procurement, risk management and contracting laws
• Ability to organize, manage and direct a diverse contracting program
• Strong negotiation and leadership skills with vendors and staff

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage very large, diverse contracting projects and advise the court administrator
• Audit and process contract invoices for payment
• Draft, revise and enforce standard contract and RFP templates
• Ensure contracting procedures comply with state purchasing laws and regulations
• Coordinate with Department of Administration and State Purchasing on contracted services
• Maintain regular communication with supervisors, judges, staff and state officials
