Job summary

Scale is seeking a Commercial Contracts Manager to drive end-to-end contracting and negotiations across our distributed energy deals. You will structure terms, manage the contracting lifecycle, and ensure post-execution compliance.

You will report to the Senior Contracts Manager and work on a hybrid schedule from our Ridgewood, NJ HQ, NYC office, or Santa Monica office, collaborating with BD and PM teams to scale value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Legal training or a paralegal/JD background is a plus, but the primary orientation is commercial.
• Strong deal-structuring instincts—comfortable shaping and proposing commercial terms, not just reviewing them.
• Experience with power purchase agreements, energy services agreements, leases, or similar commercial agreements in distributed energy or related industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a customer-facing lead on commercial negotiations based on playbooks.
• Manage end-to-end contracting process from structuring through negotiation, redlines, signature and post-execution administration.
• Maintain and improve standard templates and risk allocations.
• Support commercialization and standardization of new products.
• Prepare standard and customized agreements for customers, partners, and vendors.
