Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead contract negotiations with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and GC.
• Manage full contract lifecycle from RFP through renewal and close-out.
• Review contracts for commercial, operational, financial, and legal risks.
• Support large projects and commercial transactions.
• Develop and improve contract management processes, templates, and governance.
• Provide training on contracts, risk, and approvals.

Dagen Personnel is recruiting a Contracts & Commercial Manager for a growing field services company in the energy industry. This is a newly created, high-visibility position supporting the company’s U.S. operations and working closely with senior leadership and the General Counsel.

We are looking for a commercially minded contracts professional who can partner with Operations, Sales, Finance, and senior leadership while confidently identifying and managing contractual and commercial risk.

Responsibilities:

• Lead contract negotiations with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and General Contractors
• Manage the full contract lifecycle from RFP/tender through negotiation, execution, performance, renewal, and close-out
• Review contracts and identify commercial, operational, financial, and legal risks
• Support larger projects and commercial transactions
• Manage change orders, claims, contract obligations, renewals, and commercial deliverables
• Partner with Operations and leadership to protect margins, cash flow, and contractual rights
• Evaluate insurance, indemnification, liability, warranties, and other risk-transfer provisions
• Establish and improve contract management processes, templates, and governance
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contracts, commercial risk, and approval requirements
• Work with U.S. leadership while maintaining alignment with a global organization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, business, finance, engineering, construction, supply chain or another relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
• 10+ years of experience in contracts, commercial management, procurement, project management, or a related field
• Strong contract negotiation and commercial management experience
• Background in oil & gas, energy services, industrial services, renewables, construction, or equipment rental preferred
• Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management, risk allocation, claims, and dispute prevention
• Experience working with General Contractors and understanding insurance/indemnity requirements
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound commercial judgment
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Comfortable partnering with Operations and confident enough to push back when necessary
• Experience within a multinational, PE-backed, or similarly structured organization is a plus
