Job description

Our client is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee contractual aspects of assigned projects from the offer stage through successful contract completion. This role will focus on contract review, risk identification, risk mitigation, claim management, change management, and commercial project support.

The Contract Manager will partner with Offer Project Managers, Project Managers, legal, insurance, finance, tax, and other internal teams to ensure contractual requirements are understood, documented, managed, and executed accurately throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of contractual requirements for assigned projects.

Serve as the business partner for Offer Project Managers during the offer phase and Project Managers during the execution phase.

Review and analyze contracts to identify risks, mitigation strategies, and project management requirements.

Establish project-specific commercial risk mitigation plans in accordance with the risk management process.

Consult with project team members to support implementation of risk mitigation plans.

Coordinate with legal, insurance, finance, tax, and other corporate departments to mitigate financial and market risk exposure.

Develop and implement processes to administer, document, accept, challenge, and defend incoming and outgoing change requests.

Manage the contract change and claim process to ensure deviations from contract terms are properly captured and processed.

Manage required contractual securities, including bonds, letters of credit, parent company guarantees, and insurance policies.

Support positive cash flow during project execution.

Manage commercial close-out and post-completion processes, including warranty periods and warranty claims.

Work across multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and strong internal and external relationships.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, legal studies, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in contract management, risk management, or a related area.

Experience reviewing, analyzing, and managing contract terms, risks, changes, and claims.

Ability to work through complex business scenarios and different contract structures.

Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting commercial management, project management, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related project-based environments.

Experience working with legal, insurance, finance, tax, or other corporate support teams.

Experience managing contractual securities, insurance requirements, warranty claims, or commercial project close-out processes.
