Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Contract Manager in the Houston area to lead contract management activities within the North America Electrification Distribution Solutions portfolio. You will oversee invoicing, change orders, risk assessment, and claims support while guiding project teams through compliance and documentation processes.

You will participate in weekly proposal team and project manager meetings, support negotiations with customers and vendors, and ensure proper flow-down of subcontract

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in contracts, project management, and commercial roles.
• Familiarity with contract management tools and document control systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites (20%).
• Working knowledge of ABB or similar industrial/EPC project environments is a plus.
• Candidates must already have authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead provision of contract management services within the assigned area of responsibility.
• Represent contract management perspective in weekly proposal team meetings.
• Support front-end negotiations on contractual language, pricing structures, and scope definitions.
• Verify change order documentation for completeness and compliance with procedures.
• Manage the notices process and route contractual notices to stakeholders.
• Attend weekly project manager meetings and monthly reviews to monitor status.
• Assist in preparing claim notifications and related documentation.
• Log and track variations, delays, and events with potential claims.
• Establish documentation discipline across project teams to track risk events and changes.
• Guide PMs in documenting schedule impacts to support back charge claims and defenses.
• Monitor contract compliance and ensure flow-down of subcontract requirements.
