Job summary

Redwire Space Missions LLC is seeking a Contractor – Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team. This role is open to engineers at all levels who are experienced in developing innovative software for space systems and mission hardware.

The position is primarily remote, with optional onsite work for milestone reviews, integration and customer meetings at Littleton, CO; Albuquerque, NM; or Jacksonville, FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field; 5+ years in embedded software for high-reliability systems.
• Experience with NASA Core Flight System Framework and OpenC3/Cosmos.
• Familiarity with spacecraft avionics interfaces and protocols (MIL-STD-1553, CAN, SpaceWire, RS-422, Ethernet).
• Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN) and issue-tracking tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals, embedded development, and software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify software to meet system specifications and performance.
• Draft and release software documentation and design documents.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to deliver embedded system solutions.
• Develop software test procedures and suites for unit, system, and regression testing.
