Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a qualified professional to lead safety and environmental compliance across plant maintenance and outage activities in Texas. The role involves coordinating multiple teams, planning scopes of work, and ensuring budgets and schedules are met.

Candidate will work within cross-functional teams to drive reliability improvements and asset integrity while maintaining strong safety culture and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field or 5 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of power plant systems and operation appropriate to role.
• Experience reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Ability to operate effectively in team-based environments.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory adherence across assigned activities.
• Coordinate interfaces between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, vendors, and support organizations.
• Plan work activities, assemble resources, and execute projects/outages effectively.
• Monitor budgets, milestones, risks, and performance metrics for outages and capital projects.
• Support asset integrity and long-term asset planning with data-driven recommendations.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
