Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Tucson, AZ to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for railroad projects. This field role emphasizes safety and regulatory adherence.

Candidates must have at least 2 years in a railroad setting, valid driver's license, and able to travel 50%–85%. Training and certifications will be provided; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
• Travel assignments 50%–85% of the time and long deployments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during track operations.
• Monitor track conditions, train movements and work activities for safety clearance.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, engineers and supervisors to manage train movements and permissions.
• Document daily activities, briefings, incident reports, and logs for management and regulatory agencies.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
