Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Kingman, AZ, responsible for overseeing safe work within railroad rights-of-way and ensuring compliance with FRA rules.

The CIC leads construction, maintenance, and safety programs for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail partners, with frequent 50–85% travel and field-based duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company (maintenance of way or TY&E).
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations during work near tracks (49 CFR 214).
• Monitor track conditions and coordinate with train movements to keep personnel safe.
• Communicate with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors via radio/phone/e- systems to coordinate movements.
• Document all activities, including briefings, incident reports, and daily logs for management and regulators.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
